US 192 OVER ST. JOHNS RIVER

As part of the Emergency Evacuation Route for the east coast of Central Florida, 4.67 miles of US 192 were improved across the St. John River floodplains. Existing two lane crossings were replaced with twin 13 span structures 1,066’ in length over the River, a 263’ five span bridge over the Relief canal and a 66’ span over Sawgrass Creek. Concrete sheet pile walls at each abutment in conjunction with the lengthened bridge provided an additional 300’ of floodplain relief over the pre-existing condition.
