CR 245 OVER OLUSTEE CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Located in the rural area south of Lake City, this project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing deficient bridge along with the associated roadway improvements. Removal of 125’ of existing embankment and roadway provided increased sheet flow through the drainage basin. Top-down construction methods were utilized due to environmental and right-of-way restrictions. The design of this 6-span structure incorporated the new Florida “I” Beam (FIB) spaced 12’ on centers. The project was completed within the original allowable contract time and received FDOT’s maximum Performance Score of 110.
