This Design-Build-Finance project was a Joint Venture with The deMoya Group, for the expansion of I-75 near Fort Myers from North of SR 80 to South of SR 78.  The project consists of the median widening of I-75 including 6 low-level bridges over water or wetlands and the widening of the twin 3,850’ high-level bridges over the Caloosahatchee River.  All of the bridges on this project were constructed using top down construction methods to minimize impacts to the environmentally sensitive wetland areas.  Temporary work trestles were used at all low-level bridges and in sensitive endangered species habitat areas of the River bridge.  Material deliveries for the Caloosahatchee River bridge were handled with two custom built straddle carriers to accelerate construction and reduce traffic interference.
